Poetry and Songs
I just could not let the opportunity pass to share some of the verses, both to be read and sung, that I have penned over the years. Most all of them have a Christian theme because that’s where my heart is. Some samples are given below.
The Face of God
Mary had a little Lamb, in a Bethlehem manger bore.
Angels sang and shepherds came, the Savior to adore
A tiny hand that sculpted seas, around her finger curled.
A tiny hand that God designed for scars to save the world.
If time and space I could turn back, to stand on Bethlehem’s sod,
I’d kneel and bow as Mary did and kiss the face of God.
Happy Birthday, Jesus
God's Love Song
Each time I open my Bible, I hear a sweet melody.
As Jesus sings me a love song that will set my spirit free.
The angels sing the chorus of God’s salvation plan
So loved He the world, He gave us His Son and Heaven came down to man.
He went to the cross still singing, crying out to the Father above.
He called out my name to Heaven, in the agony of love.
“Forgive them now, dear Father, for they know not what they have done.”
But when He cried “It is finished,” my work had just begun.
The music of the Master, so rich in note and chord.
“I will be with you always, unto the end of the world.
Take my message to the nations, baptizing them one and all.
I took your shame, now you take My name, and sound the trumpet call.
He sang, “Come, come, come unto me, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, for it will stand the test.
My cross you, too, can carry o’er dark and stormy seas.
For I am the light and I am the way; come now and follow me.”
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:38-39
